1. Carolina Cones

This Cornelius staple that opened 36 years ago serves classic ice-cream flavors and sundaes with a side of nostalgia and history. Its inside running train track and retro booths, along with its outside miniature carousel, gazebo, and Garden Center all make up the popular attractions in this family owned ice-cream shop.
2. Pelican’s Snoballs
20832 Catawba Ave
This snow cone shop offers over 100 flavors –from Cotton Candy to Dill Pickle flavors– of Louisiana-style shaved ice and even has treats for your dog with its “pup cup.” Grab a seat in its picnic-table-style seating to enjoy your snow cone or play a game of cornhole. It’s the perfect place to go if you are looking for a casual dessert option.
3. Baskin Robbins

Baskin Robbins (found in the same building as Dunkin’ Donuts) offers ice-cream, sundaes and cakes for everyday and special events. With coffee and dessert options in the same shop, adults and kids alike will find something on the menu to try.
4. FroYozen

This frozen yogurt shop offers a wide variety of flavors and toppings for all your dessert needs. FroYozen is a pay-by-weight shop and has indoor seating and a small patio with tables outside as well. With a large chalkboard and smaller tables for children, it’s a perfect place to bring the kids!
5. Lake Norman Mini Golf & Saz’s Snoballs

This mini golf and snow cone combination is the perfect recipe for great family fun. Lake Norman Mini Golf offers Saz’s Snoballs as a refreshing way to beat the heat. This family owned business also offers a Laser Maze, a “Climb the Back 9” Climbing Wall, and a location for birthday parties.
