Cornelius Arts Center to host Architect Informational Workshop

Malcom Holzman

The workshop features a presentation by design architect Malcolm Holzman

Cornelius Arts Center invites the public to attend its Architect Informational Workshop on Monday, Nov. 20 from 5-6 p.m. at Cornelius Town Hall (21445 Catawba Ave., Cornelius). The session will feature architects who will design the future CAC facility, including design architect Malcolm Holzman of the New York-based firm Holzman Moss Bottino Architecture. Holzman Moss Bottino Architecture has partnered with C Design, a Charlotte-based architecture firm, to design the future CAC facility. The workshop will also include a presentation by C Design’s Rob C. Crane, who will serve as architect-of-record on the project, and CAC Executive Director Justin Dionne. There will also be Q&A opportunities for those attending.

The session comes during CAC’s “Voice Your Choice” campaign, launched to provide the public with more information and input during a planning phase. It includes a series of community conversations and workshops about the planned center.

During Monday’s workshop, Holzman will give an informative presentation about Cornelius Arts Center plans. Holzman Moss Bottino Architecture has designed state-of-the-art cultural, civic, and academic facilities for communities across the country. Of local prominence, the firm has designed parts of Spirit Square, including the innovative ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center in Uptown Charlotte.

“The opportunity to design a distinctive new Cornelius Arts Center is extraordinary,” says Malcolm Holzman. “It isn’t often that an architect has a chance to provide a building that will serve as a regional focus for the next 50 years. Holzman Moss Bottino Architecture and C Design look forward to this unique juncture of favorable circumstances to enhance the life of this growing community and to add to the vibrant town center.”
