Ass Clown Brewing Expands Market Offerings this Dec.

December brings some good news for fans of Ass Clown Brewing Company’s inventive beer offerings. The brewery, now in its sixth year, is expanding its tank capacity and making available more of its beers in bottles and cans.

“It’s been six years and we’re still learning and still evolving as a brewery,” owner Matt Glidden said. He has come a long way from where he started, brewing beer in his home garage, but through the growth and the learning curves he and his team have not lost focus on what’s important: “giving someone the absolute best experience they can have with a beer.”

Ass Clown remains in the same facility in which it opened in 2011–a 4,000-square-foot building off Parkway Commerce Park in Old Town Cornelius. And it is now using every bit of the space, with its 31-tap system (serving 200 different beers on rotation), 16 tanks (soon to double in capacity), and new lounge space (in the old sour room in the cellar).

The new lounge space is as unique as the beers enjoyed in it, complete with comfortable couches and a wall made of recycled cigar boxes–the perfect spot to hang out with a good beer. Or two. Or three.

And those who want to enjoy Ass Clown offerings in the comfort of their own homes will now have more brews from which to choose. Glidden and his team are expanding the variety of beers available in cans, including more IPAs and stouts, and also are making more of their sours available in bottles. All should be on shelves mid-December, Glidden said.

“It’s a constant learning process with this business, more so than with many other businesses,” Glidden said. “I’m growing at the speed I like because I want the beer to be the best it can be.”

And in addition to expanding their market offerings, they are expanding their market reach. Right now, with a 2-person sales team, the bulk of Ass Clown sales are within an approximately 30- to 40-mile radius of Charlotte. The team aims to hire a news sales person before the end of the year who will cover ground as far out as Raleigh and the surrounding areas.
